"Help the Homeless"

There are soo many animals that are homeless and need our help! Just as there are cats and dogs in shelters, so too are there homeless bunnies in need. And this is especially true around easter time. It is about a month after easter, when the "excitement" of getting a new rabbit begins to wear off, that many a rabbit finds themselves dumped off at the local shelter, or worse, set loose in the great outdoors! If you ever happen to see a domestic pet rabbit running free in the wild I would encourage you to take every possible measure to catch this rabbit, and take it to a no-kill shelter. It may seem reasonable that one could set a rabbit free outside given that they originated from the wild. However domestic rabbits have almost completely lost their survival instincts for this type of life, and are highly vulnerable... sadly, unless rescued, most will not live to see many days.

Many shelters are over-populated and under funded, but we can help! We can all work together to help those who help the less furtunate. There is a wonderful rabbit forum called Lagomorph Lounge, of which I am very proud to be a member. This is not your average rabbit forum. We have a charity called "The Needy Bunny Fund", which anyone can donate to. All proceeds of the fund go directly to helping bunnies in need. Click here to read about our past recipients. Every dollar counts... so if you're able make a donation today!!

Another way that the Lagomorph Lounge raises money for the Needy Bunny Fund is thru sales made on the lounge. Anyone who wants to sell items on the lounge must donate 10% of the proceeds to the Needy Bunny Fund. One of our very creative members (and forum moderator), Alohi, has invented the "Lagomorph Lounger" (shown below). It's completely hand made by Alohi herself, and has been a big hit with many LL buns... and cats too! If you would be interested in purchasing a lounger for one of your furkids please contact Alohi directly at: Starward@hotmail.com for pricing and general information.

One of the all time best ways to help homeless bunnies is by adopting one today!!
